Assignment SS 1.1: Meal Plan
Read:
Assignment to turn in:
- Using the postpartum nutrition resources in the previous section and the above reading, write a nutrition plan for a pregnant or recently postpartum parent in your community.
- The nutrition plan should provide a plan for balanced nutrition for a week of meals and snacks for someone recovering after giving birth.
- Keep in mind that a postpartum parent may not be able to eat large meals regularly, but they should have access to a variety of snacks and foods that will provide them with the necessary nutrition for their healing.
- Please make the meals simple and easy to prep and/or cook. Postpartum families may not have the time or energy for meal prep and cooking unless they have additional help or make arrangements for meal services.
- Provide a list of alternative ingredients for macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbohydrates) in your suggested meals, as clients may not have certain ingredients available and/or they may have dietary restrictions.
